These are just a few decorative winter crafts that are fun to make and display!
Tin Can Santa Claus
This fun activity is fun to make and can be used to decorate a table, desk, or anywhere you like. It’s also perfect for kids to make at school for an art craft.
Supplies:
1 empty, clean metal can without the label (a Pringles can works well)
white, peach and pink acrylic paint (or whatever colors you want for the face)
medium pink pom pom
2 small craft eyes
Cotton balls
6-8 medium white or silver sparkle pom poms
1 sheet red glitter felt (glitter is optional)
2″ wide x 8″ long strip of white glitter felt (or plain white)
White craft glue
Hot glue gun
Instructions:
Paint the entire can with white paint acrylic paint and let it dry.
Paint a section in the front of the can peach (or whatever skin tone color you want) for the face.
Stretch one of the cotton balls out so that it fits all the way around the rim of the can. (You might need to use 2) Glue it in place with craft glue about ½ below the rim of the can at the top. This is Santa’s hair.
Lay the strip of white felt on the table. Fold over the edges and glue in place on both sides with hot glue. This is Santa’s hat.
Position the red felt around the top of the can and above the “hair” then glue it in place and allow it to dry.
Glue the white felt over the top of the red felt, at the bottom, to form the rim of Santa’s hat.
Glue cotton balls around the can for the beard, leaving enough room open so you can paint the face.
Glue the white or silver pom poms to the end of the red felt.
Glue the craft eyes in place, and draw on a nose and mouth with a marker.
