Tinsel Stars

Switch to Desktop/Mobile View

These shiny stars look expensive but are easy to make.

What you will need:

•Lametta (a bendable wire that holds it shape)
•Glass beads
•Hot-glue gun
•Needle-nosed pliers
•Scissors
•28-gauge nickel wire

Instructions for the project: Bend the Lametta seven times at 1 1/2-inch intervals. Bring the points together into a star shape, and join the ends with a dab of hot glue. Repeat the process to make a second star. Sandwich the stars together, and then turn the top one slightly so that the two four-pointed stars form one eight-pointed star. Glue the centers together. To add a bead in the center, carefully thread the end of a piece of wire through one of the star’s interior points. Bring the wire’s ends together, and thread them through the bead. You can then secure wire ends to the opposite interior point, and snip off the excess wire. To form hooks for the ornament thread a piece of wire through a space in the ornament, such as the point of this star; bend ends together, then twist. You can then wrap the twisted wire around a pencil for a round hook, and trim ends
