Switch to Desktop/Mobile View

This fun to make ornaments can literally be made in any shape or style. You will need to find a pattern for the shape you want to do. Check online or at your local craft store for a variety of free patterns.

What you will need:

•Fuse Beads: Black, Cheddar, Dark Green, Orange, Red, White, or any colors you like
•Perler large hexagon pegboard
•Iron
•Sheet of nonstick pressing paper
•Stiff cardboard
•Sequins: red, gold, green, or any colors you like
•Crafts glue
•Narrow satin ribbon

Instructions for the project: Find the pattern that you want to use for your ornaments. Referring to the pattern of your choice, place the beads one by one onto the pegboard. You can use the bead colors suggested, or experiment with your favorite colors. Preheat a dry iron on the medium setting. Carefully transfer the bead-covered pegboard to your ironing surface. Cover the entire beaded design with the pressing paper. Carefully iron over the paper-covered beads in a circular motion for about 30 seconds. You will want to check to see that the beads are evenly fused. When the bead design is completely cool, peel off the pressing paper. Place a piece of stiff cardboard over the design, and carefully flip everything over. Gently lift off the pegboard. Then you must cover the unfused side of the beaded design with another sheet of pressing paper. Once again, iron over the entire design to evenly fuse the beads. Let the design completely cool, and then peel off the pressing paper. You can then glue sequins to the design if you want to add some pizazz to your ornaments. To hang the ornament thread a length of narrow satin ribbon through a bead at the top of the ornament. Knot the ribbon ends together.
