This scene of the Holy Family is a great gift idea for anyone at church. It’s also a fun craft for kids to make and then give.
Materials
2 small terra-cotta pots
1 small terra-cotta saucer
Acrylic paints
Fine-point marker
3 wooden knobs, one smaller than the others
Craft glue
Small amount of white fabric
Embroidery floss
Raffia
Instructions
Paint the terra-cotta pots and saucer. (The saucer will be the manger) Use a fine-point marker to draw faces on the wooden knobs. Let dry completely.
After paint has dried, turn the pots upside down and use craft glue to attach a larger head to the bottom of each pot. Let glue dry, then drape a piece of fabric around the top of each head and tie it in place with embroidery floss.
Form a swaddling blanket from another piece of cloth, gluing it to secure the shape. Glue the small head to the blanket and set it in the saucer on a bed of raffia.
