When it comes to Christmas decorations, often the ones with the most meaning are those that are home made.
If you enjoy crafts, there are many different types of Christmas crafts that will help you to decorate for and get into the spirit of the holiday season.
One type of craft you can make is clay pot crafts. Clay pots can be used for so much more than plants and flowers; in fact, they make excellent Christmas craft ideas.
The following are some clay pot Christmas crafts.
Clay Pot Reindeer
This little reindeer can be made as a centerpiece or other decorative item. You can even make Santa’s whole herd of reindeer!
Materials needed:
Terra cotta clay pot. You can also use a plastic plant pot, if you prefer or if children are doing the craft.
Brown acrylic paint and paint brushes
Medium brown pompom
Small red pompom
Brown craft foam or brown construction paper
Craft eyes
Gold pipe cleaner
Red ribbon
Silk holly leaves (optional)
Instructions
1.Paint pot brown, let dry. You may need another coat.
2.Glue craft eyes onto the pot.
3.Glue medium brown pompom on as nose, then place the small red pompom over it.
4.Trace a pattern of reindeer ears onto the craft foam or the construction paper, then glue on the top of the pot (Or sides, in the back) for “reindeer” ears.
5.Bend the pipe cleaner in two loops. Glue onto the inside of the two ears.
6. Tie a red bow around the pot. If desired, glue on artificial holly leaves.
