There are few things that make it feel more like the holidays than the smells of spices and baking in the kitchen. You do not need to be a baker or slave away for hours in front of a hot stove to achieve this effect. All that you need are some pine cones, cinnamon sticks and maybe an orange peel or two. Pine cones are great at absorbing and holding scents. All that you need to do to achieve a long lasting holiday scent in your home is to simply mix the cinnamon sticks with the pine cones in a display or boil the cinnamon sticks and orange peels (and one or two other spices that you may like) and then soak the pine cones in the scent soaked water. Once the pine cones dry they will retain that great scent.
