Here are some questions to ask a company you are considering hiring to put up your Christmas lights. As you are looking at hiring a company to come and hang your Christmas lights, you will also need to know what you want from them. Not just that you want them to hang your lights. But, also how you want them hung etc.
So to start out, before you ask any questions, you will want to create a list of what you expect to have happen. This way you will be able to be more focused on what you expect.
This can be any of these questions.
1.How much do you want to pay for the work you want done?
2.Where do you want your lights hung?
3.How many lights do you want to use?
4.Do you know the measurements of the areas you want the lights hung?
5.Do you have any homeowner’s restrictions, either through neighborhood associations, or with your home insurance?
6.Do you want a specific theme to be played out in your lights and decorations?
7.Do you want to go with certain colors?
Then you will want to create a list of the questions you will want to have answered with the plan you created in mind. Here are some of those questions.
1.How much do they charge? Is it per hour, or is it by the total job with a bid?
2.What types of lights do they use?
3.Will they be using lights you have purchased?
4.Do they have any samples of work you can look at?
5.When will you be able to make the appointment for them to come out and look at your home? This way you will know what to expect on the timing for the set up.
6.What will you be looking at for completion time?
7.Will you need to be home during the design and hanging of the lights?
8.Can you add your own ideas?
Now that you have taken the time to research each of the different companies, you will find that there is a great deal out there. You will likely want to interview at least three different companies. This way you will be surer in your decision.
When you know how much they charge, you can find out if you buy your own lights if it will cost less. You can also see if you can get a better deal by going with a total job bid, instead of by the hour. If they do not have samples of work they have done, you can ask for an outline of what they plan for you. This way you will see the basic idea.
When checking on their availability, you may find that they do not have the resources to get your lighting completed in a timely manner. Thus, you will want to see about actually doing a little research about whether there are others out there that can complete the work you need in the time you need it done by.
Finally, overall it is your yard. Take the time to find out as much as you can about the company you are considering hiring to hang up your Christmas lights. You do not want to make the choice that will have you closing your eyes each time you drive into your drive way!
