Fish and Whale Crafts
There are several stories in the Old testament (as well as the New Testament) that have to do with fishes, fishing, or whales. One that specifically comes to mind is the Story of Jonah and the Whale. You can use fish crafts to help tell the story, or you can tell the story and then kids can make some sort of fish craft when they’re finished listening. A fun thing to do with fish or whales is to make a giant hanging three dimensional fish. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Butcher paper
- Washable finger paint or tempera washable paint
- Staples
- String
Depending on how old your kids are you may have to draw the fish yourself, or if you’re kids are old enough they can draw the fish themselves. You will need to cut the fish out on two pieces of paper so you can staple the papers together and stuff it. Kids will want to paint the fish before you get it stapled together and stuff but it really is a simple craft to tackle with just about any age child.
