Rubbings

Rubbings are probably something that you remember doing when you were a child. You simply take a leaf, twig, flower, or whatever else that you may find outside and make a rubbing of it by covering the item with a sheet of paper and using a crayon or chalk to make a copy of that item by rubbing it from on top of the paper. This simple country crafts concept can still be used by children of all ages or it can be made to be a bit more sophisticated. To make a standard chalk rubbing into something that you might frame and pit on your wall, you will want to chose your leaves more selectively. Choose only one or two items that you like. Group those items or place them one at a time on the paper or use them as stencils on a canvas. You could even let the plant dry out between two panes of glass and frame it just like that. Creating a simple, yet elegant, look is as simple as it seems.
