This craft makes a great gift as you can fill it with treats, notes, or whatever else you would like. To begin this project you will need to cut the top 1/3 off of one large paper plate. Glue that portion of the plate onto another large paper plate so that it forms a pocket. Glue two small paper plates together (facing each other so that you get a rounded shape) to form the head. Glue the head to the large paper plates. Cut out some wings from another paper plate or black construction paper and glue them to the body as well. Paint the body of the bird. Just as in previous examples, cut out a beak and eyes, and glue them to the body. You could also be more exciting with how you decorate your bird by gluing on some feathers or making pipe cleaner legs that you can then tape onto the back of the plates. Also, feel free to make a hole in the top of your bird paper plate holder so that you can hang your bird. You can fill the bird’s pocket with birdseed and hang it outside for the other birds to enjoy.
So you see it is easy to make bird crafts with nothing more than a few plates, sheets of paper, glue and some items from the kitchen. You may not have some of the materials that were described here, but chances are that you can come up with a variation on what was described here or a craft of your very own that you can make using materials that are right under your nose.
