Ocean crafts can be edible and fun to make. Some of the best learning moments can involve having a great taste in the mouth. Here is an idea for a snack that is healthy and interesting.
What You will need:
- Bread
- Can of tuna
- Mayonnaise or salad dressing
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes.
Instructions:
First prepare the tuna with the mayo or salad dressing. Dice the tomatoes and shred the lettuce so that it is in small pieces. Mix the lettuce and tomatoes in with the lettuce and set it aside. Then take the bread you will be using for the sandwich and cut it into the shape of a fish with either a cookie cutter or a knife. If you have a cookie cutter that is safe for your kids to use, then you can involve them in cutting out the bread as well. If you prefer you can toast the bread before you use it for the sandwich and this will make it easier to cut out. When the two slices of bread are cut to the proper size and fish shape, then take some of the prepared tuna mix and spread it on the sandwich. This makes a fun sandwich that is fun to eat and healthy at the same time. When your kids are eating, you can teach them about fish and all of the different kinds that live in the ocean. This could also give an opportunity to teach them that tuna is a kind of fish and that it is good for people to eat.
