Craft projects are an ideal way for preschool kids to express their creativity, learn something, and have some fun. The following is a look at some fun preschool craft ideas:

Cereal necklace: This is a really simple craft idea, but most preschoolers love it, and it gives them a chance to make something, improve their motor skills, and have fun. Most preschoolers could use some crafts that require them to do things like thread a piece of yarn through a fruit loop, as it takes coordination, which can be helpful later for writing, and penmanship.

Toilet paper roll music makers. Most preschool age children love to be creative and express themselves, and music is a great outlet for that. For this craft you need either a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll, some dry beans, some paper and tape. You basically cover one end of the tube with paper and tape it on, then put in a handful of dry beans, then cover the other end, and tape into place. Then, you can play music and make your own using your own little home made music maker. The preschooler can also decorate the music makers and personalize them.

Turkey. For this preschool craft, you will want to get construction paper, brown finger paint, some googly eyes, colored feathers, and some glue. What you want to do is use the finger paint to cover the preschooler’s hand, then have them make a handprint on the paper. Take the colored feathers, and glue them onto the four main fingers. Then take the googly eye and glue it on to the thumbprint. You can also use a red marker to draw on the neck thing that hangs down off a turkey neck.

Paper plate fish: This is a fun craft for preschoolers where you use two paper plates, and some pieces of tissue paper, or markers. What you do is cut out a mouthpiece for the fish, a triangle piece. Then you take the other paper plate and cut it in half, then take cut another triangle out of the center. This will make a fish tail. You then use a brass thing to connect the two paper plates. The cut in half one makes the tail; the other one makes the body. Once it is put together, you will draw on an eye, and decorate it with the tissue paper or the markers to add in scales, etc.

Paper bag puppet. For this craft you will be need paper bags, and you will put paper in the crease to form the mouth. You will cut out eyes, hair, etc. Let the kids decorate the bags, add clothes, or whatever you need to make the bag look like a puppet. You can cut out a tongue, or teeth, etc. They can be a lot of fun to decorate. You can step them up a notch with yarn, etc. for the hair, or pipe cleaners for eyebrows.
