This lovely soap will make you believe you are vacationing in the tropics. This finished recipe will make about two pounds of soap.
What you will need:
- 4 oz. mango butter
- 5 oz. shea butter
- 10 oz. castor oil
- 21 oz. canola oil
- 30 oz. palm oil
- 30 oz. coconut oil
- 40 oz. palm kernel oil
- 60 oz. olive oil
- 26.85 oz. sodium hydroxide mixed with
- 33 oz. water to which 2 tbsp. sugar was dissolved in
- 16 oz. whole milk
- 14 oz. can coconut milk
Instructions for the project:
Mix the lye and oils until the reach about 90 degree F. Following standard cold processing techniques when the lye and oils have formed trace then add the beaten milk. Be careful since the high fat content in coconut milk causes it to form quicker then other types of soap. Pour into a greased mold and allow to sit for at least 20-24 hours. The soap will need to cure for at least 4 weeks before using.
