Tissue Box MosiacWorking with tissue boxes is a lot of fun. They are easy to find and generally affordable. Best of all if you need a lot (for a classroom activity) sending a note home to parents can usually do the trick. Kids love the opportunity to really be creative with tissue box crafts. So if you are looking for some fun and unusual tissue box crafts you may want to give these a try:

Tissue box mosaic-

There is no need to settle for simply using an empty tissue box as tissues decorate the outside of this treasure box! This mosaic box makes a unique gift or a great place to store your stuff.

What you will need:

Instructions for the project:

Start by laying newspaper in the art area. Put a small amount of water in a paper cup and add a few drops of one color of paint tint with a paint brush. You can also use watered down paint (watercolors work best). Carefully dip a tissue in the paint. Gently open up the tissue and lay it flat to dry on paper towels. You will want to repeat this process with all of the colors you will use for a mosaic on the sides of a recycled tissue box.

Have an adult cut off the top of the tissue box with scissors. (This can be done easily by older children). Outline your mosaic designs on all four sides of the tissue box with colored pencils. Carefully tear dry colored tissues in small pieces and roll into balls. Glue tissue balls to the box to create your pattern. Let dry completely. If you want to you can glue a chenille stick to the box for a handle. As a finishing touch line the box with festive tissue paper and fill it with treasures for yourself or as a gift.
