* Spruce it up for spring –
Of course, Easter has a great deal of religious and historical significance. Although you might be somewhat limited in terms of how much you emphasize religious themes, you can use flowers and animals without limits. Easter is synonymous with the twin themes of re-birth and renewal. The return of long dormant flowers and greenery in spring is a natural reminder of the reason for the season. Spruce up your bulletin board with some colorful construction paper flowers or make more three-dimensional flowers out of tissue paper and pipe-cleaners. Use Easter lilies to emphasize the connection between your spring flowers and Easter. You may also want to add some illustrations or pictures of bunnies, chicks and lambs.
* For Bible schools and other religion-centric classrooms –
If you teach at a Bible school or a Sunday school where you are free to create bulletin boards that are religious, there are dozens of good ideas. Create a border for your bulletin board that is focused on the principles that Jesus lives. If you do not have an actual bulletin board in your classroom, make a colorful door poster or have a poster made with a black and white outline and have your students color it in. Some Easter themed religious images are the crosses, the empty tomb and Jesus.
* Easter games –
While playing games and decorating bulletin boards are not natural companions, there are many ways to tie different activities into your classroom bulletin board theme. Make puzzles, color pictures and write songs that you can use as decorations for your bulletin board. Make a collage of your students’ work or take photos of your students participating in their given activity and use those photos to decorate your bulletin board. You can take game pieces from games that you created for your class and use those to adorn your bulletin board.
As you continue to think of your own inspirational ideas for celebrating Easter and spring, use some of those themes in your bulletin board ideas. If you’re limited in terms of resources, enjoy limitless creativity. Have fun with your bulletin board and involve your students as much as possible. Make their contributions count.
