Decorating a Pencil Case for School

Switch to Desktop/Mobile View

Where do you keep your pencils and pens? If you are like most people, either they go in a drawer, in a cup, or in some sort of a pencil holder. It just makes sense that they have a place. The same is true for your child’s book bag or desk at school. If you want to help your child be organized, it’s a good idea to help him or her with a pencil case.
You can make fun and personal pencil cases in one of two ways: you can decorate a store-bought pencil case, or you can make one from scratch.

If you want to decorate a store bought pencil case, you will need to go to the school supplies section in your department store and find one. Your child may suddenly want a commercial pencil case, but remind her that you are going to make one that is awesome. Talk with your child about the different options for decoration.

You can use markers to color directly on the pencil case or you can use stickers. Anything goes when decorating the pencil case. If your child wants to down load pictures of his favorite sport or wants to make a collage of family pictures, you can use clear packing tape to tape these things on. Explain to your child that he can make the pencil case be anything he wants it to be and say anything he wants it to say.
