Finger paints and tracing
As your little one gets older and more capable of controlling his hands, you can experiment with finger paints and have your kids trace their hands by themselves. When you are sure that your little ones are not going to eat too much of the finger paints, let them create art using their hands. You may not end up with perfect handprints, but you will usually be able to make out a finger print or two. This craft idea is a good opportunity to let your child be creative, and you will benefit from his newfound artistic expressions. Your child may also be able to trace his own hands with a crayon as he gets older. Encourage that he does this and help him to later cut out the shape. Use all parts of your child’s hand to make art. Use the tips of your fingers to make small circles on your paper or make a fist and see what kind of shape that makes in paint. Feel free to explore!
