Are you looking for things to keep you busy this summer? Are you interested in trying out some fun summer crafts? The great thing is that there are plenty of summer crafts available that are rather simple and inexpensive to make, and best of all they are fun to create.

Here are some summer craft ideas.

Toad houses

• Materials

Old containers of various sizes
Spray paint primer
Outdoor paints
Acrylic spray sealant

• Instructions

When choosing a container to use for your toad house be sure that the container is durable and large enough for a toad to sit in and withstand the various weather conditions for your area

First you need to wash the container to make sure that any old food particles or other contaminants are not on it. You can also cut off the bottom of the can to make a type of tunnel for the toads.

Then you apply one coat of spray paint primer to the container

After the primer is dry you can paint the house anyway you wish, be sure to include doors and windows, with your outdoor paint

After everything has dried apply one or two coats of the acrylic sealant

Once the sealant has dried you need to find a moist, shady spot in your garden. In that spot lay the can on it’s side and bury half of it underground so that when the toads come and visit they will have dirt to sit on
