Do you have tons of shoeboxes sitting around your house? Are you looking for a way to recycle your old shoeboxes? If you answered yes to those questions the good news is that there are tons of crafts that you can do using your old shoeboxes, no matter what size the shoeboxes are.
Many of you are probably aware of the fact that you can make mailboxes or letter holders out of old shoeboxes, but what you might not be aware of is that there are tons of other crafts that you can make using shoeboxes. And the best thing is if you don’t have any old shoeboxes you can use various sized cardboard boxes instead.
Here are some fun crafts that kids can make using shoeboxes
• Cardboard box castle ( or you can use this same concept to make houses, barns, etc. just modify the directions to fit your needs)
• Materials
Shoebox or any other type of box
Heavy duty scissors or a craft knife
String
Crayons, paint, and/or markers
• Instructions
Remove the top of the shoebox
Cut out a wide rectangle along the front, sides and the back of the box. This will form the towers at the corners
Cut out rectangular shapes along the top edges of the box. This will form the battlement of the castle
Draw a drawbridge at the front of the castle. And using scissors poke 2 small holes in the sides of the drawbridge and on both sides of the wall next to it. Then cut out the drawbridge.
Attach a string to each side of the drawbridge and the adjoining wall
Decorate the castle as you wish
