For many teens, making crafts is not the ideal way to best spend your time, however, there are all kinds of crafts that come in handy when you are a teenager. For example, making crafts can add something unique to a date without having to spend a lot of money. Crafts let you express yourself in a way that no two people could do identically. Making crafts can even be an impressive thing that you can teach your friends how to do. One object that has many uses as a craft is the paper bag. Paper bags are inexpensive, and large grocery paper bags are easy to get for free. Below are some specific crafts that teens can do with a simple paper bag.
Paper bag kites
A perfect date for teens on a budget is to have a picnic and then to make kites together. Start by packing a picnic in brown bags or pack both meals in one large brown bag. Make sure that you remember to also pack sticks (or go somewhere where you can find sticks), kite string and some tape. After your picnic meal is over, turn your paper bags into your activity and make kites together. You can have fun experimenting with kite shapes to see which shape flies best; you can have decorating contests with materials that you find (i.e. rubbing dandelions on paper turns the paper yellow, etc.) be creative. To make the kite, simply attach two sticks together perpendicularly. Place them on the paper bag and trim the sticks so that they do not exceed the size of the paper portion of the kite. Attach the sticks to the kite using heavy tape. Tie the kite string on to the bottom of the kite and watch them fly!
