This is a fun and simple creations that the children should be able to create on their own. They will have a great time getting all of the guests at your Thanksgiving Day celebration to participate in the activity that goes along with their garland that will look great decorating any part of your home.

You will need these items for this project.

•colored construction paper

•pencil

•spray bottle filled with water

•scissors

•colored pencils

•twine or natural-colored string

•double sided tape

Draw leaf shapes on to different colored construction paper or you can use a leaf template and trace the shapes. You will want at least one leaf per guest and others for decoration. Lay the paper on a covered work surface and spray both sides with water. Crumple the paper somewhat loosely and flatten back out and let them dry completely. This should take a few hours. After the paper has dried cut out the leaf shapes and let the kids pass them out to each of your guests. Have the guests write one thing that they are grateful for and the year on their leaf. When everyone is done hang the leaves from the twine or string by folding the stems over the string and taping it in place. You can also use a hole punch and thread it through the twine if you prefer. Drape your Garland of Gratitude from your mantel, or at the top of the doorway. You can add new leaves to your garland every year and read your previous leaves to relive old memories.

These fun Thanksgiving decorations will be fun for kids to create. They will have a blast being creative and helping to add to the decorations for your Thanksgiving celebration. Let your kids try a few of these easy crafts and enjoy their delight at their own craftiness!
