If you are looking for something fun to do on your own or as a family this Easter, why not make a craft together?! Crafts are fun to do because they encourage creativity and are usually very affordable. Since Easter time is a time that many people believe is important to be spent with family, making a craft together is an excellent way to keep the kids entertained while at the same time building relationships and fostering team work.

Below you will find five of the most popular Easter crafts. As you read about each one, try to think of ways that your family could benefit from the making of that craft and feel free to incorporate any ideas that you may have that might make the crafts that you are about to read about even better.

1.Decorating eggs – Decorating eggs is perhaps one of the most popular crafts that most people do around Easter time. Some people choose to buy an egg dying kit while others enjoy the creativity behind making their own homemade dye. There are also different methods that people use for coloring their eggs such as drawing on your egg with a white crayon before dying it and using a sponge to dye the egg as opposed to completely submerging it.

2.Bunny and lamb art – Bunnies and lambs are figures that the younger Easter observers are quite fond of. Both a bunny and a lamb can be brought to life in an art project with the use of some paper, glue and cotton balls. There are many different varieties that you can choose from but the basic idea behind this craft is that the body or face of the bunny or lamb shape that you choose gets covered with the cotton balls. Once covered paper and/or plastic wiggly eyes can be used to add facial details and other distinguishing features to your Easter animal art.

3.Fun with plastic eggs – Plastic eggs are also a common item that you will see around Easter time and there are lots of different fun things that you can do with these eggs. One craft is to make an Easter tree. All that you do is fill the plastic eggs with your Easter treats, attach a string, and hang the eggs from a real or artificial tree. Your kids are sure to love the look and the excitement of plucking their Easter treats from the Easter tree. Plastic eggs are also a great addition to a basket or bowl centerpiece or could be used as subtle decorations around your house.

4.Egg carton crafts – Making crafts from an ordinary empty egg carton is easier than you may think. With the empty egg cup sections of the carton you can create all sorts of miniature animal and insect figures. By turning the egg carton upside down, you can start to envision just how many creatures can be made from this dome shape. You can use the whole carton for a fun gift or decoration by filling it with plastic eggs with treats inside and adding a fun surprise of a chicken (made out of fuzzy balls and glue) inside one of the compartments.

5.Easter wreath – An Easter wreath is a fun craft that can be done as a family. Simply have each member of the family color and decorate one or two pieces of paper that have been cut out to the shape of an egg. When everyone is done decorating their eggs, arrange them all in a circle so that each one is overlapping at least two others and glue the wreath together. Once the wreath is dry, you can attach a ribbon and hang it from a door or window. You could make this craft into a lesson by having each family member write their favorite Easter memory or why they celebrate Easter on the back of their eggs.
