Clay pot Turtle

You can create almost any animal you desire out of a clay pot, here is a craft idea for a turtle:

Purchase one small terracotta pot (2 or 3 inches)
One set of wiggle eyes
Green acrylic paint (best to have 2 different shades)
Red felt
Green felt
4 small green pompoms and 1 medium sized green pompom

Paint the terracotta pot in the lighter shade of green paint. Be sure you paint the inside of the clay pot as well as the outside. Allow the pot to dry and then paint the darker green in splotches randomly on the outside of the pot. Glue the 4 large pompoms to the rim of the pot to look like feet. Allow the glue to dry and then glue the medium sized pompom to the outside rim of the pot to create the turtle’s head. Now glue the wiggle eyes to the medium sized pompom. Cut a small oval of red felt for the tongue and glue it to the head. Then, cut a tiny green triangle for the tail and glue it to the back of the clay pot. You now have a terra cotta clay pot turtle!
