Card making can be really fun. You can use all sorts of different materials and make all sorts of different designs. No two cards have to be the same. When you are making cards, try some of these tips so that you don’t end up wasting money or time and only have the best time making them.

If you are using stamps, keep baby wipes nearby so after every use you can wipe the ink off the stamp. It will help keep your stamps looking and performing like new.

If you are using difficult to clean ink, most is, use Versamark ink before the normal ink. This will also help your stamps looking like new.

Put a little bit of glue on the thing you want to glue onto the paper so you can move it around and adjust it before you find the exact spot you want it to go. If you are putting a lot of things on this works so you can adjust everything before you permanently glue it down. You can also just make a pen mark where you want the paper to go and then glue it down.

Keep all food and drinks on a different table away from the paper and cards.

Make some cards without any specific theme or writing and use them as emergency cards or as allpurpose cards.

Keep scraps of all the materials you use. Since cards are so small themselves, they always need small pieces of paper or material. Keep them in a box or bag and use them first before you use any of your new paper.

Test stamps and markers before you put them on a card. Have a separate sheet of paper that you test them on. That way you won’t have a color that might run out or that will look bad on a card.

If you made cards with 3D fronts, then put them in bags so they don’t get ruined in storage.

Make your own envelopes or buy them in bulk. If you make a lot of cards, you won’t want to have to deal with spending tons of money on envelopes. Every card needs one and they are cheaper in bulk or can be made really easily. Just get instructions from a book or on the Internet.

If you are making cards with little kids, use washable ink for stamps or markers.

Keep your stamps in a cool dry area so they won’t ruin.

Don’t put your markers away vertically but put them horizontally.

Put the inkpads in one section so you know which ones don’t work as well as the others. Do this will all your markers too.

If you have inkpads that are almost out, put them upside down so the ink goes to the top.
Use different designs when making cards. Don’t do the same thing every time.

If you are unsure what color a crayon is, test it on a test sheet of paper first. That way you don’t end up with the wrong color on your card.

If you have old stamps, you don’t have to buy new ones just put some glycerin on them to make them look like new.

Use something heavy to fold the corners of your card. Bone folders work great but so do rolling pins.

Making sure you do little things can make your cards look professional. Don’t worry about every little thing but try a few of these tips every time you make a card and it will help them look even more amazing.
