Easter, with its bright colors and happy themes, is a wonderful time of year. For anyone who loves to craft, any holiday, including Easter, is a great time to make decorative crafts for your home, for gift giving or just for fun. Crafts of all kinds are great fun for adults and children alike. The following are some challenging Easter crafts that adults will enjoy making.
Woven Easter Basket
Store your eggs in this decorative Easter basket made with shoe boxes. You can use two different shoe boxes to make a bi-colored box, or you can use the lid to create the bands to weave with.
Materials
* 1 or 2 Shoe boxes
* Sharp craft knife
* Tacky glue
* Scissors
* Stapler
* Easter grass
Instructions
1. With your craft knife, make evenly spaced vertical slits in the shoebox, working from the right under the glued edge to approximately one inch from the bottom. You can weave either the ends or the sides.
2. Cut the long side double edge of the shoebox lid for the handle.
3. Cut the box lid into strips, which you will use to weave.
4. Weave the strips through the box.
5. Glue the ends of the strips to the box, securing them in place.
6. Staple the handle strip to the sides of the box, near the top edge.
7. Fill the box with Easter grass for hunting or displaying eggs.

2. If you’re not using patterns, purchase pre-made wood cuttings. Proceed to step 3.
3. Paint your wood piece(s); allow them to dry thoroughly.
4. If desired, sand along all edges once paint has dried, and also lightly along all other surfaces to achieve an aged appearance.
5. Add details with the fine black pen, and use white pen for lettering.
6. Tie raffia or yarn through holes for hanging.
7. Varnish the entire project and allow sufficient drying time. Add another coat of varnish to seal if you use an antique finish.
Variations of this project include adding it to a wreath, attaching it to a stake or drilling holes and making it a hanging sign.
