Decoupage Eggs

Switch to Desktop/Mobile View

Easter EggThis holiday craft offers an almost unlimited amount of design possibilities that range from fun to elegant. Almost any thin paper can be used for decoupage, and keep in mind that you do not need any fancy or expensive materials. In addition this project should only be done with Blown Eggs. They will last longer, and some of the techniques used to decorate these eggs might affect hard boiled eggs and make them unsafe to eat. The finished eggs will also make great keepsakes or ornaments.

What you will need:

Instructions for the project:

Start by cutting assorted small shapes or images from thin paper or you can use precut shapes. It is important to realize that thick paper or photos will not conform to shape of the egg easily unless they are very, very small shapes. When using photos you will have the best results using color photocopies. Using white glue or decoupage glue liberally spread glue on the back of the desired design. Place on the egg and then position as desired. When you are satisfied with how the design looks coat the entire egg, including the paper surface with at least one coat of glue, letting dry well between coats. Varnish if desired.
