Entertaining Nursery Rhyme Activities

We all know that nursery rhymes are very entertaining for young children, in fact young children often go around repeating these rhymes over and over again; they never seem to grow tired of them. But the thing is that nursery rhymes can also be very entertaining for older children. The trick to keeping nursery rhymes entertaining for children of all ages is to come up with some entertaining nursery rhyme activities.

Here are some ideas for entertaining nursery rhyme activities.

My Mother Goose Book:

Materials needed:

•Paper
•Copy of nursery rhyme words
•Crayons

Directions:

This book is something that is an ongoing activity; you can do it throughout the entire school year or you can do it for a few months. When you introduce a new nursery rhyme you are going to need to update the book.

•Make sure that you have the words printed on either the top half or bottom half of a piece of paper.
•Hand out the words to the nursery rhyme each time you introduce a new nursery rhyme.
•Have the children draw a picture of the nursery rhyme or what they think is going on in the nursery rhyme.
•Punch holes in the paper and add it to the children’s collection. You can also laminate the pages so that the book lasts longer

•Aluminum pie tins
•White flour
•Wheat flour
•Ground cloves
•Nutmeg or ginger
•Cinnamon
•Water
•Measuring cups and spoons
