Mix It/Fix It
Purpose:
To put events in the correct order and reinforce the use of certain position words.
Directions:
•Choose one bag of nursery rhymes (bags should be created for a variety of nursery rhymes and each bag should contain the nursery rhyme and pictures of the nursery rhyme)
•Read the poem with your child
•Next talk about what is going on in each picture of the nursery rhyme, you need to talk about the details and what is actually going on in the picture
•Now you need to work together to place the pictures in the correct order, the order of the nursery rhyme
•Make sure you double check your work by reading the nursery rhyme again
Spider Count
Purpose:
To match numbers to sets and to practice using one to one correspondence.
Directions:
You are going to need at least two people to play this game.
•On your turn you need to roll the die and then use a crayon to color in that many spiders on your spider web. (need to draw out a spider web ahead of time)
•Now you need to let the next person have a turn and then the next player
•The winner of the game is going to be the first person to fill in their spider webs with colored spiders.
