Making twinkling skies is easy. Take cardstock or cardboard and cut out a star shape. Cover the star with glitter or with tin foil (tin foil is less messy for younger kids). Poke a hole at the top of the star and attach string to it. Adhere the hanging star to the ceiling from the string. Younger kids can have fun watching the stars twinkle when a flashlight shines on them when the room is dark. Older kids can be taught about the constellations and encouraged to arrange the stars in a specific formation (such as the big dipper).
