Quilting

Quilting may not be the first thing that comes to mind when trying to find sewing crafts for beginners but there are some types of quilts that are easier than others to make. As a beginner sewer, with a little help and effort, you could have a great beginner project. Baby quilts for example can be used as a beginner sewing craft because they are usually half the size and require much less time to finish. You can find pre-printed patterns for many baby quilts that require nothing more than tying them together. If you can learn how to tie a square knot then you can make a baby quilt. Once you have tackled that you can move on to tying bigger quilts. One way of making blankets which may not be exactly considered quilting is using one or two pieces of fleece material, cutting the edges, and then tying them into a square knot. They make great quilts and the knots get tighter every time they’re washed. They’re extremely easy to make and don’t require much of your time to finish.
