Do you have a stack of baby pictures lying around in your house just waiting to be put somewhere else. What better way to store your photos than in a scrapbook. There are hundreds of great ways to get those pictures into a scrapbook and out of the box. Here are some tips on making scrapbook pages for babies you can start thinking about in order to get your pictures out of that old box.
Layout Ideas
Welcome home page. A fun way to welcome the new baby into the home is making a “welcome home” page. This page will contain some of the very first pictures you take of your new baby. Since it’s your child you can pick any pictures you want, just make sure they are in focus and the angle of the picture is nothing weird. All you need for this page is some nice background paper, coordinating papers to go with it, die cuts of a house and a door, and maybe even some letters for the title with your baby’s name. The picture of your child will be your focal point and placed slightly behind the door with the letters in their name underneath them.
A baby’s first…. There are so many “firsts” in a baby’s life so when it comes to layout ideas a baby’s first tooth, or a baby’s first steps, or their first vacation. Any of these can be used as a scrapbook page. Let’s take the first vacation as an example. There are some very adorable baby quotes to go along with traveling and their first vacation that you can use on the page. You will also want to find some decorative photos of the baby and where it was that you went on your trip. Souvenirs also help to make the page look a little more alive and help bring sentiment and personality.
The Four Seasons. Using the seasons during the year will always make for great scrapbook pages since there is so much you can add to the page to make it pop. Whether it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter there are plenty of knickknacks and embellishments to put on the page and some great outdoor scenery to snap some cute candid’s of the kids.
Announcement Scrapbooking
Baby showers and announcements are also a great way to scrapbook memories. The most common way to scrapbook announcements is to use the actual announcement as part of your entire page and then add your own journaling and embellishments to really bring out the picture and your story. Journaling is one of the best ways to cherish your memory of something so that when others look at the page they can get a sense and feel of that specific memory. You can describe your delivery, put dates of when the baby arrived, and the name you gave the baby. This is probably one of the most fun scrapbook pages to do on a baby because there’s so much detail and creativity involved.
Baby Themes
If you like using themes then here are some ideas on themes you can use for baby scrapbook pages:
My first year. You can use this page to document their progress and growth throughout the entire first year. You can do it all on one page or have a page for each month.
Little Princess. This is great for girls as most love princesses and will love the page you create for them here. You can go all out with the ribbons, bows, sugar and spice, and of course make it all pink.
Snakes and Snails. Of course the familiar nursery rhyme can always play a part in the creation of a scrapbook page for your little boy as most boys love being outside and dirty all the time. Everything blue and everything gross and dirty from mud to food all over their face makes a great scrapbook page.
Of course this is just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to baby layout and scrapbook page ideas. These are just some starter tips on making pages for babies and with a little searching you’ll be able to find any and everything you need.
