David and Goliath

David and Goliath is one of the most well known stories in the bible and there are many different crafts you can do with giants, sling shots, and armies. These types of crafts are great for little boys; girls may not get into them as much. Here are some ideas for crafts that go along with David and Goliath:

Making your own sling shot. This is a craft that is better with children that are older elementary aged kids, not that young ones don’t love them but they’re a little too advanced to make them themselves. If you can’t find anything to buy for your actual sling shot holder, you may have to carve one out of some wood. You can use rubber bands and (of course) use something soft for the pellets. Every little boy wants a sling shot.

Giants. You can make these by using butcher paper or cardboard. Depending on if you want it to stand up or not will depend on what you use. You can draw a large person, have the children decorate it, put clothes on it, etc. and then hang it on the wall, or you can cut one out of cardboard that will stand up. The cardboard is a fun way to do it as they can practice with their home made sling shots shooting Goliath.

Armor. Boys love pretending that they are fighters so making a shield, sword, and helmet would be a fun way to incorporate crafts in with this story.
