Although Halloween is probably the first thing that you think of when you think of bat costumes, there are many other opportunities in addition to celebrating the last day of October, where a bat suit may come in handy. Bat costumes make for fun dress-up outfits and can make an average school project presentation on the subject of bats a lot more exciting. To make a bat costume you will need an old black umbrella, a dark outfit and some felt. By folding the umbrella in half you can form the wings for the costume. The dark outfit makes your body look more like that of a bat and the extra felt can be used to add details to your costume such as bat ears.
