This is a fun craft for the holidays. The materials you need are as follows:
1-2 ounces of scrap clay (random colors mixed together)
1 ounce of green polymer clay
1 ounce of red polymer clay
Jelly cutter set
Pasta machine with spaghetti attachment
Scrap clay is a must have for this project; it’s a good way to get rid of it without throwing it away. Blend the scrap clay together until you have a unified color (use your pasta machine to blend the clay).
Run the scrap clay through the pasta machine using a spaghetti attachment, you should have long thin strings of clay. Use about 4 to 6 strands of clay at a time and gently twist them together to shape the wreath. Keep adding layers of clay until you get the desired shape and size. Now, condition the green clay and cut out about 6 to 8 pieces. Gently tug each piece to stretch them out and add lines with a straight edge tool. This should resemble holly leaves, attach them to the wreath. Make small holly berries with the red clay and apply them to the wreath.
You can make a bow out of polymer clay, or use a lace one to tie to the wreath after it is cooked. With any leftover pieces of red clay, condition them to look like ribbon and string them around the entire wreath. Press a jump ring into the top of your wreath for hanging.
Bake the wreath at 275 degrees for 60 minutes. Allow it to cool and you now have a Holiday wreath to hang! If you want a spring wreath, use pastel colors and add flowers, butterflies, and ladybugs to warm up your home.
You can find several other polymer clay crafts online. Most crafts can be done in an hour or less and many websites provides pictures of the finished project to help you see what you are creating.
