Mother Goose crafts are probably some of the first crafts that we ever made, though few of us may remember them. Mother Goose and her rhymes are typically introduced to children while they are very young and maybe even just starting school. If the school systems and even home educators are using Mother Goose there must be something valuable there. But why would you do Mother Goose crafts? Mother Goose rhymes are filled with very simple concepts. The rhymes are short and easy to memorize as well as easy to visualize. All of these characteristics make Mother Goose rhymes easy to relate to and understand for all ages. Doing Mother Goose projects is a great way to spend time together as a family. In fact, recent studies have found that even the simple act of getting together every night to share a meal together, led to a decrease in a child’s use of drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. But many parents do not need scientific experiments to convince them that it is better to spend time with family than without. Children are extremely impressionable, especially when they are very young. The time that you choose to spend with them not only provides you as a parent with the opportunity to teach your child. But your child learns from what you do not say. Children learn from your example. Even if your Mother Goose project is overly simplified or silly, never hesitate to put a good idea into action and to spend time with your kids. There is a very real possibility that they will remember less about the craft and more about the activity and experience itself.
