Pretty up some Easter presents
This year, start up a new tradition in your family. Instead of putting your Easter presents in ugly, run-of-the-mill plastic eggs that you pick up at the local grocery store or dollar store, make Easter presents truly special. Pick up some German egg boxes that you use each year over and over, creating a truly special tradition. You can find these sturdy cardboard eggs at most craft stores or online. Once you purchase the eggs, make them your own by painting them in various shades of blue. After you finish painting the eggs, apply those special touches such as glass glitter or small rhinestones. Create a beautiful pattern that shimmers and shines. To create an incredibly beautiful little heirloom won’t take very much time; all it takes is some blue paint, some cardboard eggs, and time to let the paint dry. Once the paint has dried and the glue is done, add some silk flowers and some silk leaves to your eggs. Once you’re done, you’ve created an old world masterpiece that your friends and family will look forward to year after year.
Now that you have your eggs, you need a basket to add them to. Choose any basket that is the right size for your Easter eggs. Also choose a basket that has the right shape to fit your design needs and your own personal style. Gather up a number of different silk flowers and paper flowers, along with some leaves. Choose the ones that fit with your decor, of course. You can look at a number of different craft stores, or you can go outside the mold and create your own paper flowers so that you can determines exactly what you want them to look like. Next, mix just a touch of blue acrylic paint and some white acrylic with four ounces of water. To test the color, paint the inside of the basket first. Adjust the needed ratios and add some blue or some white or some more water to achieve the shade of blue that you really want. Next, paint your entire basket with the blue color wash. If you want to add even more flair and style, add some velvet leaves and twine them around the handle of the basket. You can also add some sparkles by pinning on some vintage buttons onto the basket.
Finish by letting your basket dry. Then place your beautiful Easter eggs in your basket. You’ve successfully taken your Easter decor to the next level!
