Ever since I was little, ( I am now 30 and married) we have always had the same Easter day tradition. My parents, and grandparents started it. We wake up, go to Easter Mass, have a light breakfast, then go to a huge plant nursery that is called, Ott’s Greenhouse, Schwenksville,PA. Ott’s is no ordinary plant nursery, it’s huge, and beautiful. There is a stone tunnel like cave, that you can walk through, a waterfall, and stairs to walk above the cave, and waterfall. The room is also filled with every exotic plant you can think of. There are also about four different separate green houses, that have the normal everyday plants, to the most exotic. We usually get our Easter flowers, and some bulbs for spring.
After Ott’s we go out to lunch, it’s the only holiday we eat out. Us woman like it because we get a break from the kitchen for one holiday.
Even though my grandparents have passed, my parents, husband and I still carry on this tradition every year. Easter is my favorite holiday, I love springtime. I hope I can pass this onto my kids someday, so they can enjoy the simple trip to Ott’s as much as I always do.
