Who knew dogs could play poker? They sure can in this game! Call, bet, fold you name it they do it! And so can you! Are you feeling lucky?
Dogs Playing Poker Instructions:You are playing against Rex, Puddles, Fido and Spot. The game follows typical draw poker rules, with a 50-cent limit on a single raise, aces can only follow a king in a straight, and an ante of five cents.A round of poker has several parts. First, all players “ante up” by placing a nickel in the pot. The pot is shown in the center of the table. The second part is the deal. Each player is given five cards. You can rearrange the cards in your hand, although this will not affect the outcome of the game. The first round of betting starts with you or one of the four dogs. A bet is made, or the player passes. If a bet is made, the next player must match that bet or fold.Once players match the previous bet, they may raise the bet some more. The next player would have to match the original bet plus any subsequent raises. The first round of betting continues in this way, sometimes around the table several times. It ends when all the remaining players call the existing bet. In this way, each player remaining after the first round of betting will have contributed the same amount to the pot.The next step is the draw. Each player is asked to discard any unwanted cards and replace them with fresh ones from the deck. You may discard any number of cards, or none. The second round of betting is similar to the first. If, during this round or the previous round, all the players but one have folded, the remaining player gets the pot. After the second round of betting is over, the remaining players show their hands and the best hand wins the pot. Here is a list of all the possible poker hands in order of their value: one pair, two pair, three of a kind, a straight, a flush, a full house, four of a kind, a straight flush.A pair is two cards of the same value, such as two sevens. Two pair is when you have two such matches, such as two sevens and two queens. Three and four of a kind are three or four cards of the same value. A straight is when you have a run of five consecutive cards, such as five, six, seven, eight, nine. In a straight, a jack comes after a ten, followed by the queen, king and ace.A flush is five cards all of the same suit, such as five cards that are all hearts. A full house is a pair and three of a kind in one hand, such as two sevens and three jacks. A straight flush is a straight and all cards are all of the same suit. When two players have the same hand, the winner is the one who has the highest card as part of that combination. For instance, a pair of sevens beats a pair of fives. If both players have the same combination, the player with the highest other card wins. For example, if both have a pair of sevens, the player who also has a queen beats the one with only a jack as a high card.In Dogs Playing Poker, the game continues as long as you want, or until your or a dog loses all his money. Since it is a friendly game, the dogs don’t wish to play after one is out.You can speed up play by holding the shift key while clicking the buttons. This will signal the game that you wish it to continue automatically until it is your turn again.
