Shoot your enemies and the gold spiders. If you’re not sure if something will benefit you or not, shoot it with your mouse. If you see a red bar above it you’ll need to shoot it til it explodes into gold nuggets. If you shoot it and no bar appears, it won’t hurt you. Some objects are collectible, some are not. Push against walls to collect gems and gold nuggets. Use your arrows or A, S, W and D to move and your mouse to aim and shoot. As you collect more gems and gold nuggets, you can buy upgrades.
