Welcome to May! In the Northern Hemisphere, spring is now firmly established, while the Southern Hemisphere enjoys the cooling off brought by autumn. Many European countries celebrate May 1 as May Day, a celebration of spring and also their traditional Labor Day. Workers march through the streets to commemorate the struggles that brought an end to the abuses of the Industrial Revolution.
In the United States, the celebration of Cinco de Mayo (May 5, 2013) is much more prominent, especially in the Southwest.
