To get the vampire look this Halloween, you will need the aid of some makeup. Your Halloween vampire makeup will consist mainly of three colors: black, white, and red. Of course, you can always add a bit more color if you want, but for the really sinister look, sticking to the traditional black, white, and red is best.
When applying your makeup, remember to do it really neat. Unlike most of the “undead” vampires are supposed to look sleek and sophisticated. They often have a glossy appeal to them.
Start with the mouth: The thing vampires are known for is their sucking of other’s blood. So, make sure your vampire look is complete with truly appealing lips. It should be your most prominent feature as a vampire.
The lips should look bloodstained. So, one of the best things you can do is get a blood red lipstick and apply it, then cover it with a clear gloss. If you want a really dramatic look, consider a dark, glossy black for the lips. If you are wearing lipstick, be sure to use a lip liner, as it will keep the lipstick from bleeding, and will give your lips a more defined, and controlled look.
Of course, no vampire mouth would be complete without blood dripping from the corners. So, you have two options, you can paint it on, or you can use fake blood. The best looking, and most realistic approach is the fake blood approach. You can purchase fake blood at a costume store, or you can make it yourself at home. It is actually very simple to make.
To make fake blood mix 1 cup light corn syrup, red food coloring, and chocolate syrup together to get the color and consistency you wish for. Then apply it to the corners of your mouth, and let it drip down your chin. Do not touch it, let it dry.
The eyes are the next feature you need to play up. When wearing normal makeup you should not play up both, but as a vampire, it is critical. So, use tons of black eye liner, and black eyebrow pencils to make your eyes heavy and intense. You will want to line the top and bottom lids with heavy liner. A liquid liner may work best for this. You then want to use a dark gray to fill in the crease. And then a silver or other shimmery shadow on the lids. Then add a nice thick coat of mascara. Make the eyebrows really dramatic by filling them in, and changing the shape to dramatic arches.
You can make your vampire look really scary by adding some bruising under the eyes to make yourself appear sleep deprived. Do this using blue, purple, and gray shadow, and blending it well into your foundation.
Once you have done that, it is time to make the rest of your face appear pale. Most people recommend you do this first, but you should do it last so that the dark makeup you used earlier does not get stuck in your foundation. Use a “too light” color or powder, and go over your face to make yourself really pale.
