Poems make great additions to Mother’s Day. They can be used as part of the celebration, where you recite the poems to your mom. They make a great insert to a card sent for Mother’s Day. They make a great gift, you can print them out and frame them really nice as a gift. The following are a few short mother’s Day poems that can be quickly memorized for recitation, that are short enough to fit nicely inside of a card, or look nice in a 5 x 7 inch frame.
Grandma too
While we honor all our mothers
With words of love and praise
While we tell about their goodness
And their kind and loving ways.
We should also think of Grandma,
She’s a mother too, you see…
For she mothered my dear mother
As my mother mothers me.
To My Mother
I just want to thank you
For your warm smiles
Your encouragement
Your words of wisdom
That still guide me today
Thanks for everything
Happy Mother’s Day

Mother
Mom is such
A special word
The loveliest
I’ve ever heard.
A toast to you
Above all the rest
Mom, you’re so special
You are simply the best.
I Love You
Here’s a simple poem
Straight from my heart.
I love you mom
And that’s a start!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Everything Mom
How did you find the energy, Mom
To do all the things you did,
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.
How did you do it all, Mom,
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,
Yet find time to be a playmate,
I just can’t comprehend.
I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I’d call,
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.

What “Mother” Means
“Mother” is such a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today,
My mother’s love showed me the way.
I’ll love my mother all my days,
For enriching my life in so many ways.
She set me straight and then set me free,
And that’s what the word “mother” means to me.
Thanks for being a wonderful mother, Mom!

If none of these really suit your feelings, another option is to write your own Mother’s Day poem out. You can do a rhyme, a haiku, or whatever style you like best. Just be sure to show your mother how much she means to you, how grateful you are for the things they do, and how much you love them. A poem will make a mother’s day (pun intended), because it is a sincere expression of appreciation to your mother for who she is, and the sacrifices she has made for you.
Kacie says
Mom,
You are the sun I wish wouldnt fade
But here comes a new day.
To wake up to that smile ohmy
I love you so much mother of mine
Angelica Vasquez says
Sometimes i need love from my boyfriend but he does not appricate it what should i do
kaila says
