In 2010, Trouw, the Dutch former Resistance newspaper, published a number of stories about Jewish children who, like Anne Frank, had gone into hiding, but who, unlike her, had survived the war. These survivors have lived to tell their own stories of going into hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Filmmaker Marcel Prins, journalist Peter Henk Steenhuis and animator Marcel van der Drift developed the survivors’ stories into a cross-media project, Andere Achterhuizen, consisting of an interactive website hiddenlikeannefrank.com, with animated films and a book. Both the website and the book received excellent reviews.
