Great American Documents is a new website presenting the full wordage from many of the documents and speeches that helped shape American history.
According to the webmaster, The site focuses on material that elevated freedom and liberty. We hope Americans enjoy them and are inspired, he added.
Among the eighteen documents currently covered is the final draft of Abraham Lincoln�s Emancipation Proclamation and Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s Declaration of Sentiments from the first women’s rights convention in 1848 held in Seneca Falls, New York.
Speeches now include those delivered by Patrick Henry, Frederick Douglass, William Jennings Bryan, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King and fourteen others.
