I have nostalgia of course, being a boomer, for the Christmas music my Dad would play on the family stereo when I was a kid in the 1960's and 70's. But those old crooners have been gone for decades and at some point, especially with Dad also long passed away, it becomes a little depressing and stale. To me at least.

But I agree - A Christmas Story, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas - without Christmas, there's no story. Home Alone - not so much. I feel the same way about Christmas songs EVEN IF THEY MENTION CHRISTMAS. Like "Last Christmas" - you could insert any other day, it works the same. In fact, some work better logically, like New Year's or Valentines.

Christmas, especially Christmas Eve, because my family always celebrated at home together then. We sometimes went to other family members' homes on Christmas Day, but Christmas Eve was the special night. ~ Something that you enjoy these days is:.....decorating a small Christmas tree. ~ My favorite landscape is:.....Coastal Redwoods.

The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be bringing Santa Claus into your Neighborhood through the dates of December 3 to December 18. Santa will be riding on a big red firetruck sleigh! An Ambulance will occasionally lead, playing Christmas songs on their PA system...

Christmas Eve - Baked Ham, Macaroni and cheese, Green beans, biscuits. Egg nog and cookies for dessert. (I skipped the cookies, but did drink some egg nog. Christmas - Roasted Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, peas. Apple pie for dessert. ~ How is the weather these days where you live?

And don't say "Die Hard" :lol: Mine is probably Miracle on 3th Street, the original with little Natalie Wood. Or maybe Meet Me in St. Louis, which isn't really a Christmas movie but they play it at Christmas so it counts.
