The big bear was still alive so he reloaded and shot it several times in the head. The big bear was just over one thousand six hundred pounds. It stood 12 feet, six inches high at the shoulder and 14 feet to the top of his head. It is the largest grizzly bear ever recorded in the world.
56" Bear Grizzly Question - GON Forum

I just got my hands on a 1970 56" AMO Bear Grizzly at 50lbs. The question is using a string 4" shorter than the AMO gives me a brace height of about 8 3/4. Is that correct for this bow? 7-8 1/2" has been norm for most of my bows.

grizzly dates (dry grizzly) Of course all would like Grizzly to be moist all the time. However that is not always the case. I solved it by following what my Grandfather did. He was a tobacco farmer most of his life. He used tobacco in every form. He rolled his own whether cigarettes, cigars, pipe, chew or dip.

I listened to an episode of the Meateater podcast awhile back where they had a dude on there that survived a grizzly bear attacking him and his buddy. It took a shot from a .300 Winmag and kept attacking, took several more shots from a 10mm to finish it off. He said on autopsy, that without the shot from the 300, they might likely be bear poo.

You can use the 3 Rivers Spine calculator, it will get you close. I shoot a Grizzly myself, 50#, and shoot GT 3555 with a 175 gr tip 29" long and it does well. As for the Montana, I don't have a clue. If you are first starting out, shooting a lighter bow to start will help build correct form.
