Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, bar none. We usually host 25-35 people, so I started menu planning today! Plan on growing some squash blossoms, greens, herbs, & hot peppers around the time so that I have access to certain produce items which are harder to get here.

Thanksgiving has absolutely nothing to do with colonial atrocities committed against indigenous peoples. The pilgrims settled in an area that was largely devoid of native Americans because they had been wiped out by a previous pandemic, and they had peaceful relations with the remaining Wampanoag for decades.

It's literally my favorite part of thanksgiving, and I'm not even normally a "gravy person," so I'm counting it as a dish. Found out it's actually from a Gourmet magazine from the 1980's. Skim off the fat from the juices in the pan, add 1 cup Madeira, and deglaze the pan over high heat, scraping up the brown bits clinging to the bottom and sides.

The Myth Of Finger Prints set on Thanksgiving in New England, very good. Dark but not too dark. The Little Girl That Lives Down The Lane it starts on Halloween but ends after Thanksgiving, again in New England and dark. Young Martin Sheen and 13 yr old Jodie Foster, stellar. This will be played. I am just getting into playing DnD, and will have a party of 3 over for thanksgiving. I want to nerf the format, so that it is a little more manageable for first level characters. Do you have some good suggestions on how to make the battles more accessible to 3 or 4 1st level champions with next to zero experience?

Thanksgiving is honestly just a pain. My husband's parents are divorced and everyone wants their own celebration, my parents included. The whole holiday is traditionally centered around a very large meal, so feeling obligated to attend 3 separate, large meals is ridiculous in one day.
Americans, please explain the day after Thanksgiving

My mom works for the government and she always had the Friday off after thanksgiving. It always bummed me out cos she had to work Christmas Eve and I think she would have rather had that day off then the day after thanksgiving. I worked retail so I always had to work on the day after thanksgiving and a lot of the times on thanksgiving.
