Bob Dylan, an iconic American folk musician and poet, was born Robert Zimmerman in 1941. In 1999, Dylan was included in Time Magazine’s TIME 100 list of the most important people of the 20th Century. In 2008, the Pulitzer Prize jury awarded Dylan a “special citation for his profound impact on popular music and American culture.” And recently, Dylan became the first musician to be awarded the Nobel Literature Prize.
