    Any discussion of music piracy must start with an understanding of copyright law. And you don't need to be a grownup or a lawyer to grasp the basics, as proven by this terrific kids site from the Copyright Society of America. Highlights are the multimedia Yearbook Club (which shows the kids at Lincoln Middle School dealing with copyright issues while creating a school yearbook) and the Copyright Challenge quiz. Although the majority of the site is appropriate for elementary and middle-school students, I found the definitions in the glossary full of legalese. Yuck!

    TechTV: Piracy is Wrong. Period.5 stars

    David Lawrence, radio host of the David Lawrence Show, Net Music Countdown and Online Tonight, and an outspoken anti-piracy evangelist, appeared on TechTV earlier this year to make a case for ethical online behavior. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a movie must be even more valuable. Click on Video Highlight to see the segment for yourself. TechTV viewers had a lot to say in response, and you can read it all by following the links to Talk Back and the message boards. In Talk Back (at the very top of the page) you'll also find links to additional TechTV articles on piracy.
