Many cable internet subscribers will soon have access to thousands of free WiFi hotspots in major metropolitan areas across the country. The hotspot service, named CableWiFi, will be free to customers of Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable. CableWiFi has already launched in New York City and central Florida, and is set to expand to other markets in the coming months. It will include more than 50,000 hotspots. For WiFi hotspots currently offered by your cable company, check your provider’s website. Many cable companies already have mobile phone apps to help you locate their free hotspots.
